One Monday, no one went to work (no one from this house anyway)
It was decidedly going to be a wonderful day to spend doing happy things outside
Went to Richmond and had lunch at one of my favourite cheap meals – Nando’s!
It’s the most fantastic feeling having a day out knowing that everyone else is stuck at work, hehe
The trains are empty, the buses have empty seats aplenty, and there is a general air of calm on the streets – this does not apply to Oxford St though.. i hate that place, it’s always swarming full of tourists who don’t know how to walk
After eating we tumbled down to the local Odeon, intending to catch the latest Harry Potter film
Bought tickets, and proceeded into the almost-empty cinema..
When we stepped in, my heart immediately sank. The theatre was SO SMALL. But still feeling optimistic, we found seats closer to the screen instead of towards the back where I’m normally more comfortable at. I stared at the screen. It was like I was sitting there waiting to watch a puppet show! It was just SO SMALL. I must’ve been taller than the curtains.
“Never mind, I’m already here and so I should try to enjoy it anyway”, I thought.
Plus, I couldn’t help giggling and making stupid jokes as it felt really silly.
Five minutes later, the curtains opened. The moment of truth..
Bad news.
In front of my eyes was a screen that I was convinced HAD TO BE SMALLER THAN MY FATHER’S NEW TV AT HOME. I might as well have watched the movie on my iPhone.
Before peeing my pants from the funniness and patheticness of the situation, I bolted out the door, back to the ticket counter and demanded a refund for our tickets. Best decision ever! Even the counter guy laughed (which makes me think.. he obviously KNEW.. he could’ve warned us!) In the end we saw the movie at Westfield that evening, and it was AMAZING. No way that puppet-show theatre would’ve done it any justice..
Anyway. Day in pics:

What do I do about my horrible eyebags??
Conscience: duh, go to sleep earlier..

Tried the Starbucks Gingerbread Latte that night
I don’t drink coffee
But that night I did.. It was.. just o..k.
