For Bonfire/Guy Fawkes Night this year, the Aussie team organised for a bunch of us to go on the London Eye – in a private pod with food and champagne! – to celebrate the launch of their new Take The Heat range
I got Emma to come along
Admittedly we didn’t have high expectations for this event
And since we were both getting there right after work, neither of us cared to dress up ;p
But no matter
Ended up having what we agreed was one of the best nights out in London so far!
I also have to write – for my records – that we ate the best Japanese takeaway on the floor of a major tube station whilst people speed-walked past and around us in herds before heading down to the river where the meeting point was
Here is a run-down of the night in pictures : :
Took this while waiting with the group
Many of the girls came in high heels and pretty dresses
But.. the weather was freezing and it had rained earlier
I simply couldn’t do it!
I’d rather be warm and comfortable..
It was my third time on The Eye
I had my first go on it during my first ever week here in London
The summer of 2007.. *nostalgic*
I’m wearing a men’s tee and tights from ASOS
Necklace from Topshop, and shorts by H&M
Emma wears a fur gilet by Topshop – but found at the op shop for a nifty £6
*snuck a laugh at Emma’s pic while typing this.. what’s with her arms? Ha ha*
When I first saw ‘Big Ben’ for myself
My first thought was ‘.. that’s not BIG!??!’
I mean, really. It looks so much larger in movies.
I felt cheated. But I still love looking at it.
I stupidly forgot to pick the photos that captured the fireworks that were happening all around the city..
As we were suspended high up there
I saw tiny-looking bursts of fireworks pop out everywhere!
I felt so lucky to be able to see London light up from that perspective
If you press your face against the cold glass
Ignore the sounds and other distractions around you
It almost feels magical
Can you imagine what it must be like to be Peter Pan, zooming across the night sky on Bonfire Night??
Kristabel and the fabulous Emma!
Colours.. 🙂
Uhh.. other Emma..
There are toooo many people named Emma in this world..
Us trying to do some sort of ‘artistic photo’
In between trying to drink as much free champagne as possible
We had the opportunity to go for two circles on The Eye
= more time to eat/drink/do silly things hehe
Jewel Bar
Covent Garden is one of my favourite places in London ever
I don’t care I like repeating it
“Look!”
*jealous of whoever might be in there*
*Stops walking*
“Dude this thing is for US!!!!!!!!!”
GOD I felt so DUMB!!
Had ordered us two ginormous limos (there was a similar one in white one ahead) to ferry us to Covent Garden!!
Pics are blurry cos we were over excited -_-
That’s Carrie at the back
What better thing to do in the limo than drink more champagne
I remember knocking the bottle on my teeth by accident in my excitement
(Emma and I drank from the bottle as the glasses ran out.. ok..)
Our next stop was Jewel Bar
There was a fire-eater person thingy outside the venue
And wow you can really feel the heat every time the blows out a puff of fire
There were heaps of snacks and bites
The best thing were these edamame beans with rock salt and chilli powder on them
I had tons *shameless*
And then I nearly finished a whole plate of fried calamari
Free cocktails and champagne, too!
Emma and I had the most fab time
We danced till our legs ached
When no one wanted to dance with us we went downstairs where LOTS of people were dancing
And we did some crazy moves while laughing at each other
That night, I went home happy
THANKS AUSSIE, BEST NIGHT EVAH

Hi !
Oh, I feel so good seeing this photos…! Last summer was my first time in London, and it was just amazing! I wish I can back soon and do somethings that I didn’t do, as visit the London Eye! Yeah, I know that is one of the turistic points, but I didn’t want to go, was so busy! But now, looking at this photos, I think I’ll need to go a hundred times more! haha
Do you live in London?
kisses :*
Well I thought the view from The Eye was stunning during the day, but it looks even more amazing at night!! Gorgeous photo’s.
