This is probably one of the ‘freshest’ posts I’m publishing – i.e. about something that occurred very recently. In fact, only days ago! *pats self on the back*Here’s something I wore over the weekend. I was somewhat missing Portuguese food (post-holiday blues) and so went to look for some in South London (Stockwell/Vauxhall).

I’ve had pretty much THE best summer I’ve ever experienced in London and I’m sad that I haven’t documented any of it on my blog.. but I guess it was because I was too preoccupied with having fun and living in the moment (what I do best!).  I spent SO much time in the sunshine that I sported the very rare and very surprising ‘London tan’.

It was only last week when I returned from Portugal that suddenly.. it was.. not summer anymore. It was cold! I couldn’t go out in my bikini anymore, when I practically lived in them the last three months.

I remember saying to Aysha last Saturday as we traipsed around Portobello Market, “what the hell? I just bought two jumpers. what is happening?”

One of said jumpers is the one I’m wearing in this post:

Shoes – Converse (vintage upcycled – they’re studded; unfortunately not visible in these pics)

If you saw me wearing this dress in real life, you would need to wear your sunnies. It’s SUPER BRIGHT (perfect).

Now that it’s inevitably autumn, it’s time to think about jackets and coats! I browsed Littlewoods to see what they had available and picked four of my favourites:

1 – South Leather Biker Jacket
2 – Bellfield Rannoch Acid Wash Parka
3 – French Connection Glorious Wool Coat
4 – South Waxed Swing Jacket

Quite essential items really – a leather jacket, wool coat, parka.. You need them all to survive! These were all selected from the Littlewoods range of winter coats.

And then everything else is a bonus – hello sequin jackets, patterned neon crazy cardigans, vintage jacket with a giant unicorn head stitched on.. etc…

The great thing about Littlewoods is that you have the option of paying for your clothes in monthly instalments. Not unlike buying a car or a house. Hmm.. I can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing.. but I guess having the OPTION is pretty handy..

I kinda miss wearing a light jacket. Or maybe this is my inner voice telling me how much I miss the Copenhagen-bought parka that I lost in Rotterdam. But this could be an opportunity to get a new, less-expensive one.. it’ll be handy for when I go to Wilderness Festival in two weeks! Was looking at this selection of parkas (by New Look) – I like the jade green elephant print one.. what do you think? If it were neon it would already be in my wardrobe.. obviously

It was so tempting to WASTE my money on these Beano toys and candy.. they had so much crap that I’d LOVE to stuff my picnic bag with!!! But I practised self-restraint and simply eyed them..

You could go into ‘Dennis’ tree house’ and doodle on the walls.. Admittedly I was too lazy. And if I did go in I’d just end up drawing rude body parts all over and get kicked out or something.

People doing art and craft! It looked so boring yet relaxing.. hehe.

Many of my friends got very amused by this..  I just saw the floor decal and couldn’t resist. What ELSE is it for, right??

Trying to get some of the London skyline in.. I miss my pink hair (that I had for 5-6 weeks – it’s a faded ash purple now).

I almost ALWAYS spend at least a few minutes watching the talented skateboarders/bmx bikers doing their tricks there whenever I’m in the area. I hope it gets to stay!

It’s my birthday today so I’m off to celebrate in the sun now.. !

I like this so much better than the previous green/turquoise, especially since I’ve MISSED the pink that I had over the summer.

The dyes I used were Special Effects Atomic Pink, and Directions Plum. I buy my dyes and bleach kits (Manic Panic Flashlightning – Amplified) online here.

I really hate dressing during the winter.. I’ve got thick wool tights under those leggings and three layers under that jumper. Makes me feel so THICK and totally UNglam.

The first time I washed my hair after this dye job, it was like an EXPLOSION of blackcurrant. The purple is so strong that later on when I’d dried off and gone to my room, I looked into the mirror only to realise that my FACE was a shade of purple. My hands looked like zombie hands.

Someone (can’t remember who) said I must’ve been the image of a real life oompa loompa.

I was at Westfield to have a complimentary meal offered by Yo Sushi as a result of a terrible experience I had with them previously. The month before, I had made the mistake of eating at Yo Sushi out of desperation (only thing open that was close by).. and wow can bland food ruin your day..! But to be fair, the team at Yo Sushi were helpful and kind enough to listen to my complaint and invite me back to give it another try.

Although I still don’t love the food at Yo Sushi, I did discover a couple of delicious gems available on their specials menu, such as the duck katsu and some sort of mini spicy fried meatballs on a stick (?). I was also impressed by the impeccable service at the restaurant.. everyone was so friendly and smiley the whole time!

I was trying to be ‘cute’ but I’m not sure it worked.

So I gave up and decided to swing my bag around instead. It was fun! I look like I’m being lifted up by my bag. It’s almost like magic?

My bag wasn’t even zippered up. THE SHEER POWER OF MY SWING KEPT ITS CONTENTS INSIDE. Yeah!

My hair grew so LONG. And floppy. And flat.

But luckily, I’ve just had it cut and re-coloured last night by Ming. I feel a bit like a traitor since I’ve been getting my hair done at Vidal Sassoon for the last 3+ years, but Ming did a super duper fab job and I’m so pleased! I miss my pink hair though…. >.<

This great pair of shorts were passed on to me by Joyce. Actually, it was more like I borrowed them and I didn’t want to give them back! I loved the pockets too much. They’re really comfortable and now err tooootally matches my hair.

She had gotten it from AZORIAS, a one-year-old online store based in Malaysia selling mainly Korean fashion items, run by my friend, HuiWen. They ship internationally (£17 standard shipping to GB) and dresses – really pretty ones! – start from about £25 up to £40+.

Bag is a super old, overworn, mangy old Topshop item.. I can’t seem to stop using it as I feel it goes with everything! But then again.. I feel a lot of things go with everything..

All photos were taken in South Ealing. It had been over a year since I moved out of that area into Central London, and I wanted to go back to reminisce and be nostalgic. Haha.

It was amazingly nice to be back in the familiar tree-lined suburban, residential streets. Living so close to the city has spoilt me and I had become used to having a dozens of bus/train lines within a five minute walk from my flat. Back in South Ealing, there was only one tube line to use – the Piccadilly Line – and one bus that stopped at the end of the street – the 65.

It was good to spend the day walking more slowly, stopping for longer to admire the plants and snails/cats/etc, and then having the most delicious Sunday roast and cider at the local pub.

Except that.. after walking for a couple of hours, those bloody shoes gave me such a bad blister that I had to swap them for the sandals I so conveniently packed in my bag. Screw you, shoes! You almost ruined my day!! Nah.. just kidding.. I had an awesome day anyway.
