A couple of months ago I decided to make use of the white table top in my living room and start to get all arty with some of my photos. This is because I saw some other cool people doing it and I wanted to be cool, too. Hey at least I’m admitting it. So here’s a little curated selection of some of these snaps off my Instagram account; and I can introduce you to some of my new toys: 🙂

Happy sushi

^I’ve been eating a lot of sushi for breakfast/lunch lately..

Hey Arnold!

^OMG I LOVE Hey Arnold! Please tell me you know him! Top right is a pair of monkey socks given to me over Christmas by a friend in Porto. They’re awesome. Bottom pic is my bed where many-a-night I’m spending way too much time reading Men’s Health or Quora.

Felt toys

^Left: A cow finger puppet and my pink felt pig in Paris (Montmartre to be exact)

Right: My felt elephant on a beach near Porto^

 Happy food

^Left: Gifts from a friend consisting of some of my favourite things – Vegemite included OF COURSE! Oh and peanut butter pouches.. so good.

Right: One of my breakfasts. Chirashi sushi, baby biscuits, fruit, and chocolate!^

Below: My super bling iPhone case! You can get it for $50 from Casemate.

Casemate, Wolf & Moon

^Some fab accessories I got from Wolf & Moon in December. One of my favourite jewellery labels!

Hobby horse

^Left: Disco ball and my little horse – an old birthday gift from 2013

Right: A card I made using pieces of felt and a glue gun. For a friend whose name began with the letter G^

Porto winter sunbathing

^This was me in Porto in DECEMBER! Can you believe it. My pom-pom headpiece is by Rosa Bloom.

Marc Jacobs sunnies

^Food ‘lunch belts’ that I got from Colette Paris – I love that store so much! And my new Marc Jacobs sunglasses, c/o SmartBuyGlasses.

I was hoping to receive them in time before I went off to Portugal and Spain last month but that didn’t happen. So here are some pics of me wearing them as I enjoyed some sunshine.. at home.. in my bikini! This is something I do quite often during the winter actually – whenever the sun’s out. If you can’t do it outside, why not in, right?

My face & purple hair

^That’s a sunspot on my hair! Hair cut & colour by Pimps & Pinups.

More ME

^HAhahaha ok basically I was so high on sunshine and self-love that I thought it would be a fantastic idea to keep taking pictures of myself wearing my cool new sunglasses. Cos I thought I looked pretty damn good in them (and I don’t care if you think not :p).

They fit great! This particular design also comes in BLUE (I know, the blue is SO ME isn’t it!). But seeing as I’ve given away my RayBans to my sister/mom I might get a replacement for those instead.

Ok, that’s enough of me for now.

And please, if you haven’t already, follow me on Instagram (and say hello)!

If there’s a favourite warm-weather drink of mine, it has to be cider! If you know me well enough, you’ll know that during the summer I go a little overboard and spend an obscene amount of time around the parks of the city. I take every possible opportunity (yes, sometimes I slack off from work but shh). I think it’s quite the London thing to sit on the grass with a bottle of cider..  isn’t it?? Also, I don’t drink beer.. err unless I’m at Oktoberfest or something.rekorderlig cider
^yes, I have all these props (& more) at my disposal!

There’s no doubt that my preferred cider brand is Rekorderlig, cos they offer such a fantastic variety of flavours. My all-time favourite is actually the winter cider, served warm during the colder months, but anyway….  I was recently approached by Rekorderlig, asking me to come up with some outfits inspired by their upcoming spring flavours – namely Pear, Strawberry & Lime, and Passionfruit.

Nearly every girl I know loves strawberry & lime cider, by the way.. I have to say when I first got to know about it I was mega hooked, but now am branching out to other flavours as well. Haha.

This post is best served visually, so here goes:

fruity outfit
Dress, Necklace, & Bananas – Bangkok
Sunnies – Zara
Shoes – My sister’s

I admit that I didn’t have any particular flavour in mind when I chose this ensemble. I was just so excited by the thought of a fruity outfit that I thought it best to wear the most crazy colourful item I had in my wardrobe at the time (I was in Malaysia) – kind of like a fruity burst of colours! Also, I was in a tropical country hence the bananas.

YES I DO LOVE BANANAS A LOT. And no, please don’t read too much into that..

bib necklace
^closeup of my neon orange deer necklace

watermelon outfit 2

^Pretty much everything I’m wearing in this pic was bought when shopping in Bangkok the previous week.

This was my interpretation of ’strawberry & lime’ – i.e. the colours red and green! Red and green = watermelon, no?

Sorry I simply couldn’t leave my banana out of the picture..
I wonder if Rekorderlig will ever produce a banana cider <— hello, IDEA right there!

me and mom
^It was delicious (that’s my mom!)

pear outfit

Coat – Zara
Top & Skirt – Bangkok
Shoes – River Island
Bag – Topshop

A sudden change in scene! That’s cos I flew back to London this week, and had my friend Emma take this photo for me – which is meant to be my Pear flavour outfit. I thought I did quite a goo job by incorporating two types of pear here – the light green variety and, to quote my Instagram caption, ’those skinny brown pears’.

Speaking of green and brown, before I went away to SE Asia I received a lovely pair of sunnies – with brown frames and green lenses (!) – by London Retro, c/o MyOptique.

london retro

Admittedly they were a bit smaller sized than I imagined.. so I would say they suit you only if you’ve got a small face. I think the size of my face fluctuates, so I must make sure to wear them when my face is at its optimum size.

Sometimes my face also does this:

my idiot face

Sorry about that.. now back to the topic…. 🙂

After writing all this stuff about cider and fruits I’m understandably feeling like I need something sweet and juicy to satisfy myself. Right this moment I’ve just gone to pick on some cherries I bought earlier today, and wtf they tasted horrible! Please arrive already SPRING so that fruits taste better – and also so we can start sitting outdoors clinking some cider bottles againnnnn…

OH and for your chance to win Rekorderlig’s Spring Flavour Collection, upload an image of your spring flavour inspired outfit to Twitter or Instagram using #LondonFlavourWeek.
Seriously just do it.. it’s so easy and also, hardly anyone has entered (I have checked, haha)!

THANK YOU for asking me to do this, Rekorderlig – I have loved you for a longggg time! <3

You can follow Rekorderlig’s fruity adventures on Twitter and Instagram – do it! Add some fun and colour to your life 😉

It’s no secret that I love hanging out in onesies. You may remember that I wore my lion onesie to a lavender farm, and wore my fox onesie in Iceland. I also have a Santa one, which I used at last year’s annual London Santacon. And these are just the occasions that I’ve actually written about..However, when wandering around Shoreditch Boxpark (a pop up mall in East London) last year, I noticed Norwegian label OnePiece had set up stall there. They make high-quality, lush onesies which are meant to be the ideal loungewear for cooler climates.. without making you feel conscious about things like having ears on your head or a tail on your bum (not that I do, but not everyone is as shameless as I am).

I was recently the proud owner of a Pink Lusekofte Onesie.. and this is not even a lie – I wore it as soon as I got home that day. And the next day too. I kind of decided to skip work and laze around in my suit (not because of the suit, but it helped!).

If you’re looking to treat yourself or a loved one this Christmas, you can use the code ‘31SMALLCRAZY2’
for 20% off  all OnePiece onesies in the online store
Valid worldwide and until.. Christmas Day 2013.

And.. here’s me wearing mine!

me packaging

The suit arrived in a nice matte plastic bag with ‘the story’ at the back, which I won’t bore you with but it pretty much just tells you that the idea spawned from thoughts of creating the most perfect thing to lounge around in. By men, of course.. because women would take into consideration the fact that it’s actually rather a pain to go to the toilet in these things. Haha!

My solution is – don’t drink too much fluids and make sure to use the loo right before you put it on.

label

The material is thick and is lined with fleece on the inside.

hood

The zipper is able to be closed completely up to the top of the hood..

do not zip

And the tag, which demonstrates the brand’s sense of humour, gives you some fair warnings.

For example, it tells me not go to surfing wearing my jumpsuit because it will get wet and I can’t put it on after surfing.

It also makes a few points about not having the ‘zipper fully closed’, and to watch your crotch area when zipping up.

looking at window

Initially I picked a size XS. But it turned out too long. I suppose people in Norway are very tall and they can’t fathom such a short person as I. In the pic above I’m wearing ‘XXS’, and look how long the legs go! But it’s really very snuggly and comfy. I do love it.

hey arnold

Did you use to watch ‘Hey Arnold!’? It was my favourite show in Nickelodeon, after Spongebob of course.

me as an idiot front

The traditional prints are my favourite, but you can get it in normal solid colours and even denim-look designs.

full zip

To end on a funny note, here’s a pic of me with the ‘zipper fully closed’.

I promise I’ll one day walk out in public like this.

A quickie post with pics of some things I wore in Rotterdam last month (all of which obviously I no longer possess, haha. if you have no idea what I’m talking about, read this and this).Rotterdam was mostly cold for the end of May, but we did get one warm day. I made a day trip to Kinderdijk to see the windmills as it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Thanks to the sun, I had the luxury of doing this wearing a skirt!kinderdijk outfit

I’ve had the shirt for something like three years now, but this was only the second time I’d worn it. I’m pretty sure this is a common occurrence amongst fashion-conscious people..

Sometimes I feel like I have too many clothes yet.. not. Ignore me. First-world problem here!

french connection shoes

These grey suede Oxford shoes were gifted to me by French Connection UK, via Spreaditfast, just in time for my trip. At the time they retailed at £95, but lucky you it’s the summer sales and they’re now tremendously marked down to £28.50/£38 (depending on colour) 😉

The first time I wore them they kinda hurt my feet after just an hour. But after that, they were great.. I did run into a few compliments when I had them on. In this case I say YES it matters what other people think, esp if it gives you a confidence boost.. haha!

mirror shot

I experimented pairing the shoes with other colours in another outfit one evening.. since I had some time to kill and was alone in my apartment,

^I especially loved the wavy outline on the thick sole. Damn. Bummed I lost these shoes!

I think out of all the items featured in this post, I miss my crazy bright leggings the most. They would’ve been awesome to wear at the festivals I’ll be attending this summer!

I know that many of you are curious as to… how old I am. Cos I’ve never explicitly mentioned it (on the blog) before.Well, here it is – I’m 29! If you put the pieces together (and if you had so much time as to bother stalking me..), you would’ve guessed it or come rather close. I left home when I was 19 to live and study in Australia. After 4.5 years there, I relocated to London.. and I’ve been here a while.I’m not gonna lie, I KNOW that I don’t look my age and that I look much younger than that. This could be both an advantage and a disadvantage. You know how troublesome it is for me to buy alcohol at the supermarket?! Sometimes I don’t even bother if I haven’t got ID on me. I also still get rather nervous when i’m in a queue to get in to an over-18 event when I’m without ID. The other day when I had to buy bourbon to make eggnog for Christmas, I had to make sure I went out with my PASSPORT. Oh and how can I forget not being able to buy drinks at a FESTIVAL (Isle of Wight 2010)..

But on the plus side, in 2009 I was in Norway for a skiing holiday and when my friend and I were about to pay for our equipment hire, the guy behind the counter said, “Ok, so one adult and.. under 15 is half price”.  With my beanie, ski jacket, and pants on I must’ve looked like a tween boy. I decided to ride with it and pay my half-price rate.. hehe 😉

When I was 23, I went to a night market with my mom and a vendor tried to sell her some workbooks. Because he thought that I was her 11-year-old child who was studying Grade 5 mathematics.. -_-

However, as young as I may look NOW, I know that age will eventually and most certainly catch up with me. My mom makes it a point to remind me all the time, for example, by passing me a small bottle of SKII via my sister who came to visit in the summer. And by warning me not to ‘smile too much’..

I told myself that this year I would try to incorporate some sort of anti-ageing product into my daily skincare regime – which, in fact, is very basic and simple (I’m a lazy girl). I use Shu Uemura cleansing oil, Biotherm toner (only sometimes), and Hada Labo moisturiser with hyaluronic acid. I also apply a thin layer of Avène SPF50 emulsion if it’s a sunny day. That’s pretty much it!

PC181142.jpg PC181143.jpg

Recently, I had the opportunity to use a new anti-ageing serum by Swiss Line – a tube of ‘De-Aging Restorative Complex’ from their Cell Shock collection. I was rather excited to try it after hearing about it from Joyce.

It’s being advertised as a ‘Botox buddy’. As you may (or may not) know, the effects of Botox are only temporary. So if you’ve had Botox injectons, this serum helps maximise and extend the wrinkle-smoothing effects of Botox if used hand-in-hand.

But for people like ME (non-Botox people), the serum is supposed to improve your skin structure and make it feel smoother by boosting collagen and elastin production, thus slowing down the ageing process. Most importantly, it’s meant to make my skin less wrinkly.

PC181144.jpg

It comes in a long 25ml tube.

It contains the following key active ingredients:

Age-Intelligence Complex – makes sure that skin cells receive an optimum amount of oxygen (for collagen production), and to modulate chronic inflammation (the major culprit in visible skin ageing).

Cellactel 2 Complex – a powerful botanical complex that helps your skin breathe, preserve energy, and metabolise effectively.

Ronacare – protects tissues from collagen and elastin breakdown; proven to reduce wrinkle depth by 15%.

Botox-Pro Complex – increases the skin’s suppleness and counteracts the stiffening of matrix collagen by mimicking the skin’s natural peptides.

PC181145.jpg

Those who know me well will also know that I’m not so much a creature of habit or routine, so making sure that I used the serum EVERY DAY AND EVERY NIGHT for at least the first 3-4 weeks – before any effect can be seen – was really tough! But I did it. I even packed it in my bag with I went on my Iceland road trip. How’s that for discipline!

Fortunately, I don’t really have any wrinkles on my face as yet.. other than faint ‘laugh lines’ (the folds between your nose and the corners of your mouth), so I used that as a marker to determine if the serum did anything for me.

It could be only in my mind, but I feel it DID make my lines less obvious than before. My skin also feels smoother to the touch and less blotchy after I have my hot showers (I have very thin skin and even the slightest inflammation is easily visible). It’s also a joy to use as it’s not sticky or ‘heavy’, and smells rather nice.

So yes, I do love it and would recommend using it! In fact, I love it so much that I feel rather sad that my current tube is about to be finished.. cos I intend to continue using it, and hopefully, keep getting mistaken for still being a uni student (except when I want to buy alcohol please)  😉

Swiss Line is not being distributed in the UK at the moment, but you can buy a tube of Cell Shock De-Ageing Restorative Complex direct from the online store for about £120 (172.8 Swiss Francs).

As the whole universe knows, this June marked the Queeeeen’s 60th year on the throne. The reason I go ‘Queeeeen’ with so many Es is because I just find the word so funny!I was slow to the party (actually, I was in Croatia getting a tan that weekend) but look here *pats self on back*, I have managed to stage a one-person-and-Dale Jubilee Tea Party. In my bedroom. There was meant to be a lovely very tea-partyish table cloth as well, but I had no free table to utilise.

Aren’t I just so ridiculous? Look at me! I don’t even really drink tea! Anyway here are the pics. If the Queeeeeen ever saw them I know she’ll be wishing she joined me…. I just know it.

Upon returning from my sailing trip
The nice people at Dell sent me a laptop from the Dell x OPI range to use for a couple of weeksSome of you may have already seen/heard
But Dell have come up with something called Design Studio which lets you customise what your laptop cover looks like
One of the available ranges is a variety of 27 covers based on OPI Nail Polish colours
You can customise your laptop with one of these OPI colours at an additional cost of £69.I got sent the Dell Inspiron Mini with the OPI shade called..

*wait for it*

PRINCESSES RULE

I know. I had a laugh to myself when I saw the words in italic printed on the side of the laptop lid..

View the rest of the OPI colours by clicking here

But in the meantime let me show you my Princesses Rule laptop and how cute and handy it is : :

DSC_0585 (2)It perches prettily on my window sill

DSC_0572 (2)

Close up on the cover

DSC_0570 (2)

It even matches my pink desk chair.. (that I hardly sit on)

DSC_0577
The screen is pretty tiny
But it’s supposed to be an easily portable laptop so I guess it can’t go any bigger
Admittedly I had some problems with the screen – I was always squinting cos everything was just SO SMALL.The resolution options aren’t too great either –
The highest two make text look minuscule, the anything lower than those doesn’t fit everything into the screen..BUT
You do get used to it after a day or two
And it’s also got a full keyboard that’s easy to use

Laptop’s Big Day Out

DSC_0586Me holding the laptop in busy Covent Garden
[outfit post here]I took it with me while I went shopping
I walked everywhere (well everywhere within Covent Garden anyway…) with it

DSC_0599
Took it to the super pink store Tatty Devine
Where I sat on the steps and had a go at using it on my lapI have to say it’s the perfect size for carrying aroundDSC_0627

See, it fits in my handbag just right!

DSC_0639
I could even check my reflection in it
In a limited way.. haha
DSC_0635

I wonder what else it’s good forDSC_0638

Oh yeah
It’s so handy-sized light that you can jump around with it too!

++++++++++++++

I just think this laptop is so perfect for me
As I can take it with me when I travel
Although I have to say, my own laptop is actually travel-sized as well
Just that it’s boring black
But with childish/colourful stickers on it :pAs for functionality
It’s (the Dell Inspiron Mini) got everything you need to..uh, update your blog! HAHA
Ok it’s got all the essentials
It works at a good speed and the screen is clear (great for pics/videos)
It runs on Windows 7 Smart, comes with about 120GB of space, and.. whatever you need to get on the internet and do your shit
Not for anything too serious/heavy
It’s just right for a laptop that size really
Sadly I’ll have to return the laptop soon
Perhaps it’s because it’s to be swapped with one from the new Threadless range.. *wishes*But anyway do go to the Dell Design Studio and check out the Threadless laptop covers
They’re pretty cool!
