If there’s a favourite warm-weather drink of mine, it has to be cider! If you know me well enough, you’ll know that during the summer I go a little overboard and spend an obscene amount of time around the parks of the city. I take every possible opportunity (yes, sometimes I slack off from work but shh). I think it’s quite the London thing to sit on the grass with a bottle of cider..  isn’t it?? Also, I don’t drink beer.. err unless I’m at Oktoberfest or something.rekorderlig cider
^yes, I have all these props (& more) at my disposal!

There’s no doubt that my preferred cider brand is Rekorderlig, cos they offer such a fantastic variety of flavours. My all-time favourite is actually the winter cider, served warm during the colder months, but anyway….  I was recently approached by Rekorderlig, asking me to come up with some outfits inspired by their upcoming spring flavours – namely Pear, Strawberry & Lime, and Passionfruit.

Nearly every girl I know loves strawberry & lime cider, by the way.. I have to say when I first got to know about it I was mega hooked, but now am branching out to other flavours as well. Haha.

This post is best served visually, so here goes:

fruity outfit
Dress, Necklace, & Bananas – Bangkok
Sunnies – Zara
Shoes – My sister’s

I admit that I didn’t have any particular flavour in mind when I chose this ensemble. I was just so excited by the thought of a fruity outfit that I thought it best to wear the most crazy colourful item I had in my wardrobe at the time (I was in Malaysia) – kind of like a fruity burst of colours! Also, I was in a tropical country hence the bananas.

YES I DO LOVE BANANAS A LOT. And no, please don’t read too much into that..

bib necklace
^closeup of my neon orange deer necklace

watermelon outfit 2

^Pretty much everything I’m wearing in this pic was bought when shopping in Bangkok the previous week.

This was my interpretation of ’strawberry & lime’ – i.e. the colours red and green! Red and green = watermelon, no?

Sorry I simply couldn’t leave my banana out of the picture..
I wonder if Rekorderlig will ever produce a banana cider <— hello, IDEA right there!

me and mom
^It was delicious (that’s my mom!)

pear outfit

Coat – Zara
Top & Skirt – Bangkok
Shoes – River Island
Bag – Topshop

A sudden change in scene! That’s cos I flew back to London this week, and had my friend Emma take this photo for me – which is meant to be my Pear flavour outfit. I thought I did quite a goo job by incorporating two types of pear here – the light green variety and, to quote my Instagram caption, ’those skinny brown pears’.

Speaking of green and brown, before I went away to SE Asia I received a lovely pair of sunnies – with brown frames and green lenses (!) – by London Retro, c/o MyOptique.

london retro

Admittedly they were a bit smaller sized than I imagined.. so I would say they suit you only if you’ve got a small face. I think the size of my face fluctuates, so I must make sure to wear them when my face is at its optimum size.

Sometimes my face also does this:

my idiot face

Sorry about that.. now back to the topic…. 🙂

After writing all this stuff about cider and fruits I’m understandably feeling like I need something sweet and juicy to satisfy myself. Right this moment I’ve just gone to pick on some cherries I bought earlier today, and wtf they tasted horrible! Please arrive already SPRING so that fruits taste better – and also so we can start sitting outdoors clinking some cider bottles againnnnn…

OH and for your chance to win Rekorderlig’s Spring Flavour Collection, upload an image of your spring flavour inspired outfit to Twitter or Instagram using #LondonFlavourWeek.
Seriously just do it.. it’s so easy and also, hardly anyone has entered (I have checked, haha)!

THANK YOU for asking me to do this, Rekorderlig – I have loved you for a longggg time! <3

You can follow Rekorderlig’s fruity adventures on Twitter and Instagram – do it! Add some fun and colour to your life 😉

This is probably one of the ‘freshest’ posts I’m publishing – i.e. about something that occurred very recently. In fact, only days ago! *pats self on the back*Here’s something I wore over the weekend. I was somewhat missing Portuguese food (post-holiday blues) and so went to look for some in South London (Stockwell/Vauxhall).

I’ve had pretty much THE best summer I’ve ever experienced in London and I’m sad that I haven’t documented any of it on my blog.. but I guess it was because I was too preoccupied with having fun and living in the moment (what I do best!).  I spent SO much time in the sunshine that I sported the very rare and very surprising ‘London tan’.

It was only last week when I returned from Portugal that suddenly.. it was.. not summer anymore. It was cold! I couldn’t go out in my bikini anymore, when I practically lived in them the last three months.

I remember saying to Aysha last Saturday as we traipsed around Portobello Market, “what the hell? I just bought two jumpers. what is happening?”

One of said jumpers is the one I’m wearing in this post:

Jumper – Vintage
Dress – Topshop
Shoes – Converse (vintage upcycled – they’re studded; unfortunately not visible in these pics)
mypinkhair

orange topshop dressIf you saw me wearing this dress in real life, you would need to wear your sunnies. It’s SUPER BRIGHT (perfect).

Now that it’s inevitably autumn, it’s time to think about jackets and coats! I browsed Littlewoods to see what they had available and picked four of my favourites:

1 – South Leather Biker Jacket
2 – Bellfield Rannoch Acid Wash Parka
3 – French Connection Glorious Wool Coat
4 – South Waxed Swing Jacket

Quite essential items really – a leather jacket, wool coat, parka.. You need them all to survive! These were all selected from the Littlewoods range of winter coats.

And then everything else is a bonus – hello sequin jackets, patterned neon crazy cardigans, vintage jacket with a giant unicorn head stitched on.. etc…

The great thing about Littlewoods is that you have the option of paying for your clothes in monthly instalments. Not unlike buying a car or a house. Hmm.. I can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing.. but I guess having the OPTION is pretty handy..

I can’t count the number of times I’ve lazed around at a London park this summer.. Thanks to my flexible working hours, I can normally soak up some rays before or after work, by going in late or leaving really early ;)There are two main ‘big’ toys that I like to take along with me – either my skateboard or my ukulele, which I’ve been trying to learn/practise more these days. So far I can play couple of French songs and bits and pieces of a few others. I try to make more time for it but yknow.. London livin’ = very busy livin’.Here are just a handful of pics taken at Hyde Park on a sunny evening.. oh and, a video of me singing (softly, so people around me can’t hear!! haha).

It’s really a very simple song.. “complete with bird sounds and wind effect”

This was the first full song that I learnt to play! I don’t think of myself as a great singer at all.. but I do enjoy it and I guess for the most part, I don’t care how I sound. Which is why.. this video.. is here….

hyde park 2 hyde park grass

The grass was SO GREEN I wanted to EAT IT. Sometimes I get really tempted and put a few blades near my mouth. But mostly I just put my face really close to the grass and smell it. It’s so good. I love grass!

The scarf I’m sitting on is vintage.

MY WEEKEND

I spent the weekend getting super messy (read: messed up) at the London Holi One Colour Festival. It was a giant heap of FUN. At one point, my entire face/neck was blue and people called me an alien. Or Oompa Loompa.

Besides that, I’ve been enjoying the company of my friends and ‘doing nothing’. Reena introduced me to this new Netflix series called ‘Orange is the New Black‘, which is about a mid-thirties woman who surrenders herself to jail for a decade-old crime she committed with a a drug-dealing lesbian lover. I’m hooked! It’s been MONTHS since I sat in front of a screen and watched something that’s not YouTube.

NEED MORE HOURS

If I had more hours to spend in a day, I’d be finished with other shows I started (but never had the time to complete) – Revenge, 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, etc. Maybe even play some GAMES! I used to enjoy my Nintendo DS (sorry baby I haven’t the time now) and Little Big Planet or Guitar Hero (I LOVE THIS) on the PS3.

When I was at uni, there was a period when I’d get through a few hours a week playing fun computer/pc games with my male flatmates. If you click the link you’ll be able to see what’s new these days.. There’s gonna be a new Sims coming soon! Back then I played with stuff like ‘World of Warcraft’ or ‘Counter Strike’.. totally geeky (and kinda embarrassing). A friend recently told me that he’s been hooked on some new title called ‘Darksiders 2’. I googled it and all I saw were pics of an angry-looking horse..

Though.. if I REALLY did have extra hours in a day.. I reckon I’d be a pro at electric guitar, have learnt a new language proficiently, and will have properly manicured nails (not these horrible chipped things I currently have growing wild on my fingertips). The most likely scenario though, I hope, would be that I’d have so much more time to dwell and plot and plan that I’d be travelling even more frequently.

Hmm, y’know what, I loved Orange is the New Black so much that I think I’m gonna have to MAKE TIME to watch it. I’m also gonna try out some games from the app store (iPhone). Hello less sleep and puffy eyes!

Please do tell if you have any recommendations for TV shows or games n stuff. Other than Spongebob. Cos I already have that (obviously).

I’m lucky enough to live close to Regent’s Canal, and one of my favourite walks in London is the short one along the canal from Little Venice (near Warwick Avenue) that leads to Camden Market.Really I’ve only done this walk maybe four times, but I say it like I’ve done it a bazillion times.. haha!

On a sunny day, all the colours – from the canal boats and kitschy decorations – come to LIFE. I am in love with it. Do you sometimes feel like you can SMELL colours? I think we’re all capable of experiencing colour in every sense..

Here are photos from April, when I introduced the walk to one of my best friends in town, Reena.

At the start of the walk, there are rows of parked canal boats.. I think some people actually live in them. I’m not entirely sure. But outside on the sidewalk you’ll see an assortment of items.. benches, chairs, tables, lamps, flowerpots, etc.

I picked this set of photos to blog about because, despite it having been sunny and VERY HOT in London over the last 30+ days, it was a bit on the chilly side yesterday and for the first time in AGES, I had to wear a cardigan. I don’t mind the occasional thin jumper or scarf (I have a quite-large collection of scarves.. mostly lightweight or silk or vintage ones).

I was thinking the birdie scarf by Hobbs would be a nice one to add to my collection.. from afar it looks like little stars against a night sky, and then as you go closer, you can start to see that they’re actually tiny yellow birds. I like it.

CAMDEN MARKET / PEOPLESPACE

peoplespace

At the lip of Camden Market, we stumbled upon this totally hippie set-up called Peoplespace.. a sort of market/community. There were people sat on the ground, singing/playing guitar on the boat, and homemade cakes and biscuits for sale (for v cheap I might add!).

Everyone was enjoying the sunshine.. enjoying BEING there. It was just amazing.

As it happens, the forecast tomorrow is set to be 31 degrees Centigrade and I’ll be heading to Camden Beach with some friends. No doubt I’ll be walking out in my bikini and sunscreen + beach towel in tow 😉

PS – do you like the smell of sunscreen? my favourite is Coppertone as it reminds me of swimming training when I was growing up (I trained as a competitive swimmer) x

Hello Friends! I am indeeeed still around. It’s a challenge to keep up with this blog stuff when the summer in London has been freaking awesome. I’ve been living in my bikini and visiting the parks just about every day. Also just got back from Lisbon recently, where I went to attend Optimus Alive and got to see one of my fav bands ever – Vampire Weekend. Life has been more than good and I’m sporting a LONDON TAN. I’m so dark and I now carry a bottle of SPF50 everywhere I go.. imagine, in London!!Here are some pics from when I took a stroll along the South Bank and visited Beanotown, just before the summer really began and when I still had to use a think jacket. I used to love reading Dennis the Menace (and Gnasher) in the comic books. The installation was really cool – you can still visit it, up until the 8th September 2013. Beano has been around for 75 years!! That’s SEVENTY-FIVE.beanotown wall

I kinda miss wearing a light jacket. Or maybe this is my inner voice telling me how much I miss the Copenhagen-bought parka that I lost in Rotterdam. But this could be an opportunity to get a new, less-expensive one.. it’ll be handy for when I go to Wilderness Festival in two weeks! Was looking at this selection of parkas (by New Look) – I like the jade green elephant print one.. what do you think? If it were neon it would already be in my wardrobe.. obviously

It was so tempting to WASTE my money on these Beano toys and candy.. they had so much crap that I’d LOVE to stuff my picnic bag with!!! But I practised self-restraint and simply eyed them..

You could go into ‘Dennis’ tree house’ and doodle on the walls.. Admittedly I was too lazy. And if I did go in I’d just end up drawing rude body parts all over and get kicked out or something.

Many of my friends got very amused by this..  I just saw the floor decal and couldn’t resist. What ELSE is it for, right??

Trying to get some of the London skyline in.. I miss my pink hair (that I had for 5-6 weeks – it’s a faded ash purple now).

save south bank

If you’re familiar with London’s South Bank, you’ll know that there was a big petition to try to save the iconic little skate park that’s been there for years. To find out more, click here. I almost ALWAYS spend at least a few minutes watching the talented skateboarders/bmx bikers doing their tricks there whenever I’m in the area. I hope it gets to stay!

It’s my birthday today so I’m off to celebrate in the sun now.. !

A quickie post with pics of some things I wore in Rotterdam last month (all of which obviously I no longer possess, haha. if you have no idea what I’m talking about, read this and this).Rotterdam was mostly cold for the end of May, but we did get one warm day. I made a day trip to Kinderdijk to see the windmills as it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Thanks to the sun, I had the luxury of doing this wearing a skirt!kinderdijk outfit

I’ve had the shirt for something like three years now, but this was only the second time I’d worn it. I’m pretty sure this is a common occurrence amongst fashion-conscious people..

Sometimes I feel like I have too many clothes yet.. not. Ignore me. First-world problem here!

french connection shoes

These grey suede Oxford shoes were gifted to me by French Connection UK, via Spreaditfast, just in time for my trip. At the time they retailed at £95, but lucky you it’s the summer sales and they’re now tremendously marked down to £28.50/£38 (depending on colour) 😉

The first time I wore them they kinda hurt my feet after just an hour. But after that, they were great.. I did run into a few compliments when I had them on. In this case I say YES it matters what other people think, esp if it gives you a confidence boost.. haha!

I experimented pairing the shoes with other colours in another outfit one evening.. since I had some time to kill and was alone in my apartment,

**Warning – This post is full of pictures of ME**I felt a little sad as I selected the photos for this post, because I no longer possess both the jumper and skirt, both of which items I really LOVED. The super sequinned jumper was a vintage lambswool gem that I chanced upon at Spitalfields Market a few months ago, and the neon orange skirt was one of my newer purchases from Topshop. They were both in my luggage when it was stolen in Rotterdam. Gah!!BUT on the bright side, I’m glad I at least managed to get some photos of me wearing them. And not too long ago, too – about 1-2 weeks before they disappeared.

Wore this outfit to Regent’s Park. I brought my sticker-infested ukulele along and wrapped up some PB&J sandwiches (did I tell you I’m addicted). I played two songs there 😀

That was after I found THIS TREE.. it’s like the best tree ever. It had loads of branches, and all very climbable (I checked with Google, that is a real word ok). You must be able to swim though, cos it’s quite near the water and you may fall in.

the best tree

I wish I could take the tree home and decorate it with balloons, tinsel, lights, stickers, and some baby red pandas.

This was to show you the colours in my hair and how they actually MATCH my jumper.
But it turned out to be a pic of my face looking DUMB cos it was so sunny and bright, hence I couldn’t open my eyes properly!

ukulele in tree 3.jpg  ukulele in tree 4

Sigh.. I miss my clothes.

It’s a real bummer I lost all that stuff, especially all my MAKEUP. But as my mom says, at least *I* wasn’t stolen. I’m still here and healthy and intact. And happy.

I try to take what happened as a reminder to not place too much importance on material items. I am a lucky person! I mean look.. I can see, smell, hear, and taste. I can walk and talk and sing and dance. I can feel the cold of the snow and the heat of the sun. I have food and friends and family. So really, as long as I have my iPhone (kidding!), I’m fully equipped to be the best that I can be.

pandals2.jpgSince I’ve inundated you with mostly travel-related posts of late.. here are some photos of something I wore over the Easter weekend, after returning from a week of snowboarding in Andorra. The beanie/hat that I have on is a little present I bought in town of Arinsal before I left, having been inspired by all the extremely colourful dressing that my eyes were treated to on the slopes. As with the rest of London, I’m really UNpleased with the April weather. I can’t take it. It’s just so wrong. SO COLD and so WRONG. But the upside is that I get to wear my new beanie.

At the present time, Panda has no name. It hasn’t come to mind yet!

SO! As most of you will know, London had its first snow of the season last Friday the 18th and it went through the whole weekend. If you follow me on Instagram (@smallcrazy), you’ll know that I can’t really erm.. behave myself.. when it snows. Hehe.I LOVE snow. Last winter, I loved it so much that I impulsively booked a train to the countryside just to wait for snow and play with it. I wrote about my weekend in Peaslake here.On Friday, I took some time in between working to have fun outside. I spent the Saturday at Hampstead Heath. On Sunday, I enjoyed the snow at Regent’s Park.

I was on the way to Baker Street to meet a friend for lunch, when a bazillion snowflakes started pouring out of the sky. I was SO impatient to finish lunch and RUN to the park.. and then when I got there, I realised.. that I had left the memory card for my camera at home. In a moment of snow-insanity, I darted off back to the main road to buy a new one.

Here are a selection of photos taken that afternoon:

Skirt & Bag – Topshop
Shoes – Doc Martens
Beanie – H&M
Gloves – Urban Outfitters

I wore two pairs of woolly tights, and two layers of UNIQLO Heattech tops under my jumper.

I’ve been wearing the SAME THINGS every snowy winter it’s so boring.. zzz :p

It was such a challenge to use my camera that day. Everything kept getting wet and my lens kept fogging up. But I’m so glad I went to get that memory card because Regent’s Park was a picture of magic that day! Like something out of a fantasy world. The boating lake was partly frozen on the surface. The resident birds hung out on the ice, or otherwise slipped and slid around fighting for food whenever someone threw any towards them. I bet they wish they had ice skates!

I braved taking my coat off for a photo.. it wasn’t too bad. I think I was HOT from the excitement of snow that day.

The white parts of my jumper is angora wool and is super soft to touch. There are also some teeny pearls lining the design but.. I’m sure some have fallen off by now : /

One night when I was out catching up with Ming, we decided to hit the shops after dinner. Ok this sentence sounds silly because we’ve ‘hit the shops’ just about EVERY TIME we’ve met. When we’re together we can never resist! And at least one of us always ends up buying something – this is likely because we’re always egging each other on.

Anyway, one of my more recent purchases is this children’s (size 12 years.. >.< ) duck down jacket from Uniqlo and I LOVE it! It’s so super soft and warm – and probably the closest I’ll get to realising my long-time dream of wearing my duvet out. The sleeves can also be removed!

I found all the adult down jackets rather dull and unattractive. They only had plain solid colours! And looked huuuge. So when I saw this in the kids’ section, Ming convinced me that I had to have it.

Ugh such an awful pic of me..

GOD these shoes make my feet look HUGE..

Sorry for the brief post! I’ve been out enjoying myself toooooo much – life is great! 😉

I’ll be back this weekend with the second instalment from Porto.
