Norway Days 4 & 5 – Lefse

I was just going through my photo album and realised there are hardly any photos from my last two days in Norway! Basically the day before we left we’d just come back from skiing.. I remember spending the day resting at home – the house is so cosy it’s easy to pass hours there without realising – and watching it rain outside.

The next day was half spent in the city having overpriced food, buying lefse, and catching up

I leave you with.. some pictures of stuff we’d eat in the mornings, haha!
Sorry – nothing that interesting this time.. *regret*

Altogether the holiday was amazing I had heaps of fun
If you ever get the chance you have to go!
I want to go again in summer so I can do that fjord thing and swim about like they do in the brochures. And of course buy a ton of lefse.

Norway Days 2 & 3 – Skiing in Kongsberg

Bright and early the next day we took a train to a place called Kongsberg which is a little ski village about 1.5 hours from Oslo. That cost about £16/17 per way as well.

There we stayed 2 nights with friends and friends-of-friends (many large and fit Norwegian people who make me look like a toddler!)

Skiing was HEAPS OF FUN I love skiing it’s just so thrilling!

In between we would have a hot dog and chips while sitting in the snow
And then going back and having a hot shower was like heaven

Btw my ski pants and jacket are a boys’ size 10. Hahaha.

Umm.. when we were at the ski hire I got charged a child’s rate. I didn’t ask for it. But woohoo, I saved some good money! 😀

I discovered this AMAZING Norwegian food called ‘lefse’ which is actually a traditional soft flatbread that people have with coffee or something

It’s got sugar and cinnamon (kanel) inside and it’s SO SUPER DELICIOUS I LOVE IT!!

Norway Day 1 – Oslo

Let me just mention that the flight the night before was at 7.30pm and we arrived at the airport at 7.05pm. A NEAR DISASTER. Barely scraped through after having to beg so phew!

The train stations were really cool, from the airport you can just swipe your credit card at the barriers and it’ll charge the fare and let you through. Super easy.

The first day we had a lazy breakfast and did nothing but walk slowly around Oslo

You can walk on the slanting roof all the way to the top

Everything in Norway is like so freaking expensive, btw!
E.g. the fare to get from the airport to the city was like £17 or something (one way)
In London you can just take the tube for less than £3!!

I’m spending the day in Southampton tomorrow
We’re gonna rent a bike and go cycling!
