Went to my favourite vintage pick n mix sale last weekend (where you pay for the a bag – the price varies according to size – and then stuff it to the brim with whatever you want!) with Aysh, Emma H + Emma B. If your name is Emma, there’s too many of you!

Had the BEST time
I picked up lots of colourful summer shirts and blouses to wear over the whole of Feb while I’m away in tropical sunshiney weather. Everyone got really fun and quirky and weird stuff. We left the store heaving what must’ve been an 8-10kg bag each with a sense of shallow satisfaction/accomplishment, haha.

Some pics from Big Chill Bar:

Parts of our shopping bags

There wasn’t a spare table when we got to the bar
So we squeezed in with a bunch of random guys who were quite friendly

Random guy wearing something Aysh picked up from the sale
It’s a furry jacket with HUSKIES at the back

It’s so awesome I borrowed it to wear to the party later that night heheh

Emma B’s Cool Flat

Headed to Emma B’s place after
Imagine 4 girls with a giant bag of clothes each – already a feat trying walking on the streets
The flat was on the.. I dunno.. 10th floor or some shit
And the building had NO LIFTS!!

By the time I got to the top I secretly declared that I’d done my share of exercise for the rest of the month
It’s terrible..

Anyway, we played dress up with all our vintage bargains
With loud music and wine and pizza
It was hilarious and funny and crazy and stupid!

Here, Emma H and I take turns to model a tapestry waistcoat
Pics were prob taken in mid-dance

The ‘Bad Girl’ hat may or may not have been from the vintage haul.. I can’t remember
But everything else is!

P1081919

I LOVE this yellow silk scarf I found
It has pheasants/birds printed around it – but they’re not readily visible in the photo sorry!

Now you know where my outfit from this post came from hehe

Crazy people

More crazy

After this we all went to Hoxton for some house party
Where things got really crazy – good AND bad – so no pics

😉

One Monday, no one went to work (no one from this house anyway)
It was decidedly going to be a wonderful day to spend doing happy things outside

Went to Richmond and had lunch at one of my favourite cheap meals – Nando’s!
It’s the most fantastic feeling having a day out knowing that everyone else is stuck at work, hehe
The trains are empty, the buses have empty seats aplenty, and there is a general air of calm on the streets – this does not apply to Oxford St though.. i hate that place, it’s always swarming full of tourists who don’t know how to walk

After eating we tumbled down to the local Odeon, intending to catch the latest Harry Potter film
Bought tickets, and proceeded into the almost-empty cinema..

When we stepped in, my heart immediately sank. The theatre was SO SMALL. But still feeling optimistic, we found seats closer to the screen instead of towards the back where I’m normally more comfortable at. I stared at the screen. It was like I was sitting there waiting to watch a puppet show! It was just SO SMALL. I must’ve been taller than the curtains.

“Never mind, I’m already here and so I should try to enjoy it anyway”, I thought.
Plus, I couldn’t help giggling and making stupid jokes as it felt really silly.

Five minutes later, the curtains opened. The moment of truth..
Bad news.
In front of my eyes was a screen that I was convinced HAD TO BE SMALLER THAN MY FATHER’S NEW TV AT HOME. I might as well have watched the movie on my iPhone.

Before peeing my pants from the funniness and patheticness of the situation, I bolted out the door, back to the ticket counter and demanded a refund for our tickets. Best decision ever! Even the counter guy laughed (which makes me think.. he obviously KNEW.. he could’ve warned us!) In the end we saw the movie at Westfield that evening, and it was AMAZING. No way that puppet-show theatre would’ve done it any justice..

Anyway. Day in pics:

What do I do about my horrible eyebags??
Conscience: duh, go to sleep earlier..

I always have my Nando’s chicken Extra Hot
How about you?

PB220955 PB220996

Tried the Starbucks Gingerbread Latte that night
I don’t drink coffee
But that night I did.. It was.. just o..k.
I don’t think I like coffee – so nothing changed there!

I had a small pink-striped bag of candy that had been resting on my shelf for.. months
Sitting amongst my makeup, passports, travel trinkets and variety of other things

The day I noticed it with more interest than usual was a bright, sunny day
The noises I heard through the door indicated my bf getting ready; putting on his shoes and about to go out the front door downstairs

So.. instinct kicked in
Which was.. GRAB the bag, RUN to the window sill, OPEN the window, and ARRANGE the hard pieces of candy/ammo along the sill.

P1150263-1
a quarter of the full pile

Ready to be flicked off onto his head as soon as he exited
My head was nearly giddy with anticipation

But.. by the time my moment arrived, I was so excited that my hand shoved the entire pile down at once and it all went crashing down on him in a hard, sugary avalanche. I laughed so hard. Bits of broken pink candy littered the ground afterwards. They made the most glorious click-clacking sounds as they found their final positions.. the sounds of success!

IT WAS AWESOME

..And then I went back to bed
