Went to try out a little Italian restaurant that was tucked away in a lane near where we live
We’ve passed it a bazillion times but never thought of it for more than a split second. I had a seafood spaghetti and the Mr had a boring ol’ pizza.. with… with PEPPERONI..zzzzzzzzz

Here’s what I wore

I didn’t think I’d be using these furry accessories anymore
I mean, come on.. it’s MARCH
But too bad. It’s still cold. Actually, no, I like wearing these – they’re like soft toys!

P3134205

Fur headband – Topshop
Fur stole/scarf – vintage
Grey wool cardi – Agent99 (oz label)
Skirt – The Old Blossom Box Store
Tights – Topshop
Boots – Primark

P3134210 P3134214
I love this skirt
It’s elasticated at the back so it lets me eat lots – that’s important

I got it from Jezmine- click to see the post I wrote about the store

P3134230

The ONE glass of wine that made me so tipsy
I felt like I was starting on mushrooms for the first 15 minutes – about to burst out laughing at anything.

P3134228

Here, you can see what my hands look like up close
And how lazy I am – that’s old, chipped nail polish from the 14th of February

I’m not ashamed

P3134206P3134222-1

‘Coat’ is actually the Bailey Hoodie Dress circa 2007 by Mike & Chris
It was one of the first gifts I received from my man
I had seen Rachel Bilson wearing it somewhere and became obsessed with it.. HMM!
It’s got a huge hood.. I like big hoods

P3134239P3134241

Saw this dog waiting for its owner outside the corner shop on the way home
The setting sunlight on its fur made it look like such a magnificent dog.. although it was a bit of a fatty.

I love the sun. It makes everything look beautiful and full of life.

One Monday, no one went to work (no one from this house anyway)
It was decidedly going to be a wonderful day to spend doing happy things outside

Went to Richmond and had lunch at one of my favourite cheap meals – Nando’s!
It’s the most fantastic feeling having a day out knowing that everyone else is stuck at work, hehe
The trains are empty, the buses have empty seats aplenty, and there is a general air of calm on the streets – this does not apply to Oxford St though.. i hate that place, it’s always swarming full of tourists who don’t know how to walk

After eating we tumbled down to the local Odeon, intending to catch the latest Harry Potter film
Bought tickets, and proceeded into the almost-empty cinema..

When we stepped in, my heart immediately sank. The theatre was SO SMALL. But still feeling optimistic, we found seats closer to the screen instead of towards the back where I’m normally more comfortable at. I stared at the screen. It was like I was sitting there waiting to watch a puppet show! It was just SO SMALL. I must’ve been taller than the curtains.

“Never mind, I’m already here and so I should try to enjoy it anyway”, I thought.
Plus, I couldn’t help giggling and making stupid jokes as it felt really silly.

Five minutes later, the curtains opened. The moment of truth..
Bad news.
In front of my eyes was a screen that I was convinced HAD TO BE SMALLER THAN MY FATHER’S NEW TV AT HOME. I might as well have watched the movie on my iPhone.

Before peeing my pants from the funniness and patheticness of the situation, I bolted out the door, back to the ticket counter and demanded a refund for our tickets. Best decision ever! Even the counter guy laughed (which makes me think.. he obviously KNEW.. he could’ve warned us!) In the end we saw the movie at Westfield that evening, and it was AMAZING. No way that puppet-show theatre would’ve done it any justice..

Anyway. Day in pics:

What do I do about my horrible eyebags??
Conscience: duh, go to sleep earlier..

I always have my Nando’s chicken Extra Hot
How about you?

Tried the Starbucks Gingerbread Latte that night
I don’t drink coffee
But that night I did.. It was.. just o..k.
I don’t think I like coffee – so nothing changed there!

I’ve just come home from a night out with a couple of friends
I have the house to myself

My basic routine upon arriving through the front door:
Take off shoes, run upstairs, lay bag on bed, use the toilet, strip off all clothes (and chuck them on floor), wash my face/remove makeup if any, and lastly throw on a large t-shirt.

Tonight, I sat at my desk and explored my tin lunchbox in which I keep my sticker collection
It was all very fascinating and all my stickers smelt delicious
But after that I just sat here at my desk staring.. and thought

”All I feel like now is Doing Nothing. I just need a canal and Joyce’”.
Whilst in Amsterdam we did this best. We’d find a spot by one of the many canals running through the city, plant ourselves on the concrete, play happy music, smoke some, drink some, and eat some. In the sunshine. Hours would go by and there we would still be, reluctant to get up and simply enjoying just.. being there. Relaxed and happy…. and sometimes we dance!

Here are a couple of pics (thanks Joyce) of us during our last day (an hour before leaving to the airport – we HAD to squeeze in some last min Doing Nothing-ness)

I still remember on this last day
We struggled to find a convenience store – it was always about finding a shop as drinks were cheaper there
And when we finally found one, it had to be the first one we encountered in our whole trip that did not sell any alcohol!
Had no choice as we were rushed for time

We also at last gave in to some good old greasy chinese takeaway
(actually there wasn’t much of a choice then..haha)

One lame pic of a scene from the canal for you because I’m lazy!

Doing Nothing is such a special bond for us that now thinking back on all the time we spent together, I have all these images and memories from when it’s just the two of us, sitting in a park or a field at a festival, at a canal, or on the boat during our sailing trip – music playing out loud with a cold drink or food by our sides and usually bathed in bright sunshine 🙂

The plan tonight was to write a little about the fantastic time I had in Amsterdam
But I got distracted watching Julie & Julia on the TV – Meryl Streep/Julia’s voice is so funny I laughed so many times just because of it – and so I’ve decided to do a quick WhatIWore post.

It’s not so much about what I wore actually
I remember this day so well because it was such a great day and I just want to have a record of it

It was a simple day
It consisted of going to the park and having ice cream
Listening to my favourite, happy music and soaking up the sunshine (on my already nearly-burnt skin) and dancing using only my upper body since it turns out you can’t do much with your legs while sitting down….

Oh yes. It was the day we went to watch Inception at the theatre.
Which was. OK. I think my own dreams are more entertaining. And colourful 😉

Well summer is no time to be fussing about dressing up and getting photos taken, right??
Warm weather comes with the privilege of wearing no more than one or two items of clothing out without thinking and that’s definitely something I’m taking advantage of.. please sun don’t go awayyyyyyyy
